And you, do you also want a black hole that swallows all your problems?
Everything is susceptible to being bought and sold. It depends on the price people are willing to pay… and the story behind it. You can already buy stars. Why not black holes?
But did you know this has been going on since 1979? That year, a company called International Star Registry decided to make “the sky accessible to everyone,” in their own words.
Anyone who wanted to buy a star could contact this company and, for a few dollars, receive a signed certificate with the name of the new star, a map of the constellation, and a letter identifying the newly named star. The scientific community flatly rejected the possibility of commercializing stars, but the truth is that this company not only didn't disappear, but more than 40 years later, it's still operating and has replicas all over the world.
So much so that many entities, both public and private, have taken advantage of this possibility. For example, the city of Daytona Beach registered seven stars with the names of the victims of the Challenger accident in 1986, and there's a constellation called "The Big Bang Dipper" in honor of the popular series "The Big Bang Theory." High-ranking officials, actors, and celebrities from all over the world have a star with their name in the sky.
But the truth is, whoever buys a star is really just buying a symbol, a gesture, a beautiful souvenir, a story to tell. An emotion.
What story are you telling? Do you know what emotion you evoke in your audience? The answer to these two questions lies in your brand's strategy and narrative. We build them.
